Anthony Kinslow II, Ph.D. is an research-oriented expert in energy efficiency who utilizes global best practices to develop innovative solutions for his clients. Anthony is the Founder and CEO of Gemini Energy Solutions. Gemini seeks to democratize the energy audit sector by providing affordable and investment grade energy audits for small commercial buildings. The company uses a community-based, people-powered, and partnership-driven approach to focus on equitably accelerating and scaling energy efficiency, electrification, and decarbonization in small commercial buildings.
Anthony believes that society will be successful in preventing most of the devastating effects of climate change by being informed on the socio-economic and environmental challenges marginalized communities face and engaging with the residents of those communities. Anthony has created a vehicle to engage, educate, and energize underrepresented minority communities and the underserved small commercial building market. Through his leadership, Gemini is working to implement strategies for overcoming cultural and socio-economic barriers that are preventing the vast majority of Americans from being informed of and a participant in energy efficiency. Gemini operates nationwide and partners with municipalities like San Francisco International Airport to support their efforts in climate resilience and increase economic resiliency through energy efficiency.
Solution: Transforming Glad Tidings through Clean Energy Hub Development
Gemini Energy Solutions is transforming the entire Glad Tidings Church of God Christ campus in Hayward, California into a Clean Energy Hub. Gemini assessed the energy use and performance of seven buildings, identifying the most cost-effective energy efficiency and electrification upgrades. The new Clean Energy Hub provides grid resiliency through solar panels and bi-directional electric vehicle (EV) charging stations that support on-site energy storage.
Gemini connects clients with inclusive financing options through a series of grants, power purchase agreements, and 0% interest loans that will support projects and reduce upfront costs by upwards of 90%. This full-service operation is also reaching into the local community by helping facilitate workforce development and clean energy education programs hosted by the Glad Tidings’ campus.
